The International Sleep Science and Technology Association (ISSTA) has established the ISSTA Student Committee to provide students with opportunities to engage in sleep medicine and related interdisciplinary fields. The committee is open to students from medicine, dentistry, engineering, public health, computer science, economics, social sciences, and other disciplines, reflecting the growing role of collaboration in advancing sleep health.
The Student Committee aims to support education, research, and international exchange through seminars, conferences, journal clubs, research projects, and leadership activities. Students are encouraged to explore topics including sleep medicine, sleep technology, medical artificial intelligence, digital health, public health, health economics, and policy, while working with peers and faculty from different academic backgrounds.
By connecting students with ISSTA’s international initiatives and collaborative network, the committee provides early exposure to interdisciplinary research and emerging healthcare technologies. It also offers a platform for students to develop academic, research, and leadership skills while contributing to the future development of sleep medicine and sleep health.
